Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve
Recognised globally for its extraordinary land formation, rich and diverse fauna and unique flora. The legendary Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope were key beacons for the early explorers and are the source of many myths and legends. In 1488, Bartholomew Dias named the peninsula the Cape of Storms. King John II of Portugal later gave it its actual name. The Cape of Good Hope is a scenic wonder, where soft white sandy beaches alternate with rugged stretches of rock and breathtaking cliffs.
We will stop enroute at Camps Bay beach for photo op, Houte Bay for photo op and craft shopping.

Boulders Beach
Get acquainted with African penguins at Boulders Beach. Named for the large, smooth, round boulders that form this coastline, Boulders Beach is one of the few remaining locations in the country where African penguins are able to roost and nest without interference from humans. While the beach itself is a popular bathing spot, it is equally shared with these black and white marine birds that are frequently seen sunning themselves on the rocks or taking a dive into the coolness of the Atlantic Ocean. The adjacent fynbos area holds their delicate nesting grounds, and raised, fenced walkways allow visitors to enter the area without disturbing the birds. Look for nests hidden in the sand and among the scrubland as breeding pairs carefully nurture and protect their eggs. African penguins are classified as endangered species and Boulders Beach is the only location in the world where humans can get close to these birds in their natural habitat.

The tour route includes the graveyard of people who died from leprosy, the Lime Quarry, Robert Sobukwe’s house, the Bluestone quarry, the army and navy bunkers and the Maximum Security Prison where thousands of South Africa’s freedom fighters were incarcerated for years. The tour culminates with a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell.

Constantia Glen Wine Tasting (Lunch on your own)
Constantia Glen has a unique position cradled between the Constantiaberg and Table Mountain (World Heritage Site) ranges, with predominantly north-east facing slopes. This singular location allows for exposure to late afternoon sun, ideal for the slow ripening that shapes our classically expressed wines.
Decomposed granite and Table Mountain sandstone are the dominant soil types that lend minerality and the graceful character to our wines. High water retention of the rich clay sub-soils allows for sustainable dryland cultivation, while ecologically sound practices include biological insect and pest control by means of natural predators. Our intrinsic terroir footprint is echoed in the unique insignia embossed on every Constantia bottle.
At Constantia Glen we understand that fine wines are made in the vineyard.
Ideally located below Constantia Nek, just moments from the bustling Cape Town city centre, Constantia Glen is a picturesque boutique wine estate producing ultra-premium, cool climate wines.
Enjoy our full range wine tasting of 7 great wines produced at Constantia Glen.

Winery Tours in and around Franschoek
Franschhoek is a town in South Africa’s Western Cape with centuries-old vineyards and Cape Dutch architecture. Trails wind through flowers and wildlife at Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve to views over Franschhoek Valley. The Huguenot Memorial Museum and neighboring monument honor the area’s French settlers, who arrived in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Leopards Leap Winery
The Leopard's Leap Tasting Room serves as an introduction to its home and the qualities of its brilliantly versatile wines – the fun-loving Lookout Range for everyday enjoyment, the well-structured and versatile Classic Collection, as well as the Culinaria Collection that is exclusively available from the estate.
Amongst all the fine-dining establishments of South Africa’s Gourmet Capital, Franschhoek, Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards introduces an informal and relaxed food-and-wine experience focussing on uncomplicated, fresh and seasonal food, full of flavour and beautifully complimented by Leopard’s Leap wines. Rotisserie-based lunches with tender and juicy meats from the state-of-the-art spit are complimented by farm baked bread, as well as a beautiful selection of side dishes such as seasonal salads and vegetables sourced from the biologic vegetable and herb garden on the farm.
Spice Route Winery’s name reflects what the vineyard, the wines and the people are all about. It recalls the ancient mariners of the 15th century braving the tempestuous waters of the ‘Cape of Storms’ as they plied their trade bringing exotic Eastern spices to Western Europe along the so-called ‘Spice Route’. (The view of Table Mountain from the Spice Route vineyards takes the imagination back to the scene which would have greeted those bygone sailors as they rounded the Cape Peninsula). In much the same way Charles Back went sailing into largely uncharted waters on his route to realizing the viticultural potential of this part of the Swartland wine region.
Taste tempting wine and cheese at Fairview. The bustling and highly popular Fairview Wine Estate is situated on the slopes of the Paarl mountains and boasts a wine making history that dates back to 1699. Cheese production began at the farm in the 1980s and today Fairview is the leading producer of artisanal and speciality cheeses in South Africa. The farm is one of the most popular attractions in the Winelands and offers tastings of its full range of wines and cheese. The beautifully appointed tasting room comprises a number of unique pods that allow for a more informal and enjoyable tasting environment. Your tasting will include your choice of six Fairview wines before you move across to the deli to dip into six to eight morsels of delicious cow and goats milk cheese. Round off with a visit to the goat tower, a landmark whose residents are the most famous of the Fairview Estate.
